Khaleel Ahmed mistakenly trade to Delhi Capitals instead of Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2022 mega auction
The IPL 2022 mega auction drew fans' interest in various ways, with a large sum of money being lavished on some unexpected players. On the other hand, some notable celebrities got away with extremely basic deals. Another aspect of the mega auction that drew a lot of notice was the techniques employed by Delhi Capitals co-owner Kiran Kumar Grandhi.

During one of the bids, he caused some uncertainty for Charu Sharma, overseeing the auction after Hugh Edmeades collapsed. The Mumbai Indians were the first to bid for pacer Khaleel Ahmed for INR 5.25 crore, but Grandhi raised the paddle for INR 5.5 crore, which Sharma believed was the initial bid of Delhi Capitals.

When Grandhi told Sharma to wait a little longer, Sharma sold Khaleel to DC for only 5.25 crores. It should be mentioned that many fans praised him for refusing to allow franchises to grab quality players for inexpensive fees. He was influential in raising the price of some players and has been a long-time fixture in Delhi's auction system.

Grandhi is now the CEO of six businesses and is affiliated with Capitals. Fans praised DC for their brilliant methods on day one of the auction, and they continued to do so on day two. They went on to buy 19 players in the mega auction after keeping Rishabh Pant, Axar Patel, Anrich Nortje, and Prithvi Shaw, and there was one steal trade on their end as well.

DC paid merely INR 6.25 crore for the services of star batter David Warner. He is an experienced batter who has won the Orange Cap three times in the IPL's history. DC secured his services for IPL 2022 as SRH did not retain him.
