Babar Azam becomes the top batsman of the T20 World Cup for Pakistan
Pakistan's captain, Babar Azam, got another fifty and led from the front in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2021. As Pakistan posted 189/4 in 20 overs, Babar hit 66 runs in 47 deliveries. Pakistan's captain equalled Virat Kohli and Matthew Hayden's record for most fifty-plus scores by a batsman in a single T20 World Cup edition during his spectacular innings. Babar's half-century was his fourth tournament, matching Kohli's milestone from 2014 and Hayden's four half-centuries from the inaugural event in 2007.

Babar opened the competition with an unbeaten 68-run innings off 52 balls against arch-rivals India in Dubai. In his team's victory over Afghanistan, he went on to score 51 runs off 47 balls.

Babar then went on to attack Namibia with another fitty.

The captain's form has been one of the most eye-catching features of Pakistan's unblemished Super 12 run.

Pakistan defended the 190-run mark admirably against Scotland, who were reduced to 117/6 in their 20 overs.

Apart from Babar, Shoaib Malik also struck a superb half-century as the bowlers carried out their plans flawlessly to record their fifth win in as many games.

This calendar year, Babar has 1,627 runs in T20Is and looks set to add to that total, with Pakistan still having at least one more match to play as the tournament progresses.
