India's women's singles badminton team, PV Sindhu, became the first Indian woman to win two Olympic medals. Sindhu won the bronze medal match at the current Tokyo Olympics held at the Musashino Forest Plaza Court 1 against China's He Bing Jiao.

Sindhu lost her semi-final match against Tai Tzu-Ying of Chinese Taipei on Saturday, denying her a chance to win gold or silver.

In the semi-finals, Tzu-Ying defeated Sindhu 21-18, 21-12. Sindhu advanced to the women's singles semi-finals on Friday after defeating Akane Yamaguchi of Japan in the quarter-finals.

Sindhu won the bronze medal match, which lasted 52 minutes, by defeating Bing Jiao 21-13, 21-15. Sindhu has previously returned from the 2016 Rio Olympics with a silver medal.

Sindhu, who is 26 years old, is only the second Indian athlete to win two Olympic medals. The other one was Sushil Kumar, a wrestler, who earned two medals: a bronze from the Beijing Olympics in 2008 and a silver from the London Olympics in 2012.

Sindhu was strong in the first game of the match between Sindhu and Bing Jiao, and she did not give her opponent a chance, winning 21-13.

Sindhu didn't give up, and in the end, she won the match in straight games, picking up where she left off.
