Mosaddek Hossain Saikat has been named in the squad for the first Test against Sri Lanka. A few days ago, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced a 16-member squad for the Chittagong Test. This time all-rounder Mosaddek has been added to the squad. As a result, Bangladesh team has taken the form of 17 people.

After a long time, Mosaddek has returned to the national team in white. The last time this all-rounder played a Test for Bangladesh was in May 2019. He then dropped out of the national team due to lack of form. He could not return for the next three years.

Mosaddek has done a great job in domestic cricket in recent times. This time he got his award. After playing well, he got a place in the Test team. Especially in the recently concluded Dhaka Premier League (DPL), Mosaddek has spread the same light with bat and ball. He also led Abahani.

Meanwhile, the two-match Test series between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh is going to start from May 15. The first Test of the series will be played at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong. The second and final Test will be played on May 23 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur. Earlier, the Sri Lankan team is scheduled to arrive in Dhaka on May 8.

Meanwhile, there are a lot of injuries in the Bangladesh team. That is why Taskin Ahmed was not included in the squad. There are enough fears about finding Shariful. Spin all-rounder Mehedi Hasan Miraz has been ruled out due to injury after the squad was announced. Spinner Naeem Hasan has been named in the squad instead.
